Robotics Company from Noble Cause to VC-Backed Startup in Three Months
Pramod Abichandani, an engineering professor at Drexel University, came to Novo Product Labs with some prototype robots he was developing. His goal was to form a startup that taught young children how to program using a fun, easy-to-use, versatile, and hardy robot.
With the assistance of Novo Product Labs, Pramod was able to refresh his digital 3D CAD design to something that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Then, Novo 3D printed several prototypes to test with some children of friends and family members. After rigorous, and frequently rough, testing with the children, Pramod settled on a final design to mass produce.
After several Months of selling his robots locally, Pramod received some funding from venture capitalists to expand his company, LocoRobo, and teach young children all across the U.S. how to code.
